Monday’s dawn fog-burn
from
mind and sky
Monday’s dawn fog-burn
from
mind and sky
Coat hanger on
the fence
Outdoor clothing line
Sunday bees and
Monday bees
sweetly toiling
Kids perkier, dogs
barkier breakfast tastier
on the weekend
In the yellow
banksia rainbow lorikeets
colour-bombing
Sketchy clouds tickling
the sky stretching
their wispy luck
After hospital blue
sky still blue
still
A raindrop hits
my fingertip
The tiniest splash
Raindrops left after
the storm free
fall without notice
Peppercorns cracked
and broken-in
for dinner
Table salt
all over
the table
Wind rippling
flat water in
breezy conversation
The merest misty
sprinkle dries with
each wing-flap
Winter’s cat
huddled on my lap
Smaller by degrees
The ibis, large and
beaky, flaps off
with languid gravitas
